Developmental Edit
Is your first draft (or second, or third…) complete, and you’re ready to take it to the next level? In a developmental edit, I review your novel for the big picture items—plot, pacing, characters, and themes—and provide you with an in-depth editorial letter and two coaching calls designed to help you strengthen your writing and make sure it’s reflecting the story you want to tell.
Manuscript Evaluation
Not ready for a full developmental edit, but feeling lost on what your manuscript needs before you dive back into the next draft? In a manuscript evaluation, I provide an evaluation of your story’s strengths and areas for improvement, focusing on plot, pacing, characters, and overall impact to help you take the next steps with confidence. It’s basically a dev edit, but less detailed.
Copyediting
Happy with the overall rhythm and flow of your prose, but comma splices are your downfall? During a copyedit, I go over your manuscript line-by-line to catch grammatical mistakes, ensure style conformity and story continuity, double-check word usage, and perform light fact-checking. You get your copyedited manuscript with Tracked Changes and a guide designed to help you understand the changes I made and strengthen your prose.
Proofreading
Have a finished manuscript that just needs a final polish before publication? In a proofreading edit, I closely read your entire typeset manuscript to correct typos, grammar, spelling, ensure stylistic consistency throughout, and make sure everything looks exactly as it should in your typeset pages.
